Chester Larimer "Chet" of DeLand Florida, formally of Gilbertsville, Pennsylvania passed away on October 11, 2016 in DeLand, Florida.

 He was born March 24, 1930 in Effingham, Illinois to Emerson Scott and Verna Marie Larimer. Chet was retired from the United States Navy and was a Vietnam Veteran, where he earned a Vietnam Service Medal, a Vietnam Campaign Medal, a Good Conduct Award (Sixth Award) and a National Defense Service Medal (Second Award.)  He also was retired from the Postal Service and was a hospice volunteer for many years in the Philadelphia, Pa area. He enjoyed walking and gardening and spending time with friends and family. He is survived by his companion Mildred Mashintonio of Gilbertsville, Pa, a daughter Candy Clary of DeLand, Fl and a son David Larimer of Pell City, Al, along with four grandsons Jon Clary of DeLand, Joshua Larimer of Atlanta, Ga, Jason Larimer of Washington, Cody Larimer of Pell City, Al and one granddaughter Christina Clary of DeLand , two great grandsons and five great granddaughters.  He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. 


A Memorial Service will be held on Monday October 24, 2016 at 1:30pm at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery 5525 US Highway 1 North Mims, Florida 32754.  Condolences can be sent to Altman-Long Funeral Home.
