Hector M. Huertas

07/05/1953 - 01/13/2021

Hector was born in Jersey City, New Jersey to Dolores Lopez and Julio Huertas. Hector loved music and when he was a teenager he became a member of a Record Club. While all of his friends were out riding bikes and playing ball Hector got a job with a local Newspaper Route so he could purchase music albums from the Record Club. This was an unusual hobby for such a young man. He enjoyed listening to all genres of music.

As an adult Hector worked many years in various Sales and Management positions in the Food and Beverage Industry. He is survived by his mother Dolores, father Julio, his partner Maria, daughters, Melissa and Maritza, his siblings Wilma, Edgar, Edsign, Edson, Edserie and loving grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Hector was predeceased by his brothers, Richard and Kevin.

Hector had a love for animals, especially his dogs, in particular German Shepherds and he en-joyed spoiling them all. Hector at one time owned 7 dogs and many were named “Charlie”. He enjoyed sitting in his lawn chair basking in the afternoon sunshine or during the evening sunset watching his dogs run and play.

He loved his Mother and enjoyed their lively telephone conversations and looked forward to his yearly visits to her home either in New Jersey or Puerto Rico. He enjoyed her home cooked meals and spending quality time with her, relaxing, eating, looking through old photo albums and reminiscing of his youth.

Hector was a man of few words with a quiet, reserved personality and a strong will to survive. He will be truly missed. He is gone from this world but he will never be forgotten. He will always be a beacon of light in our hearts and minds. May you Rest in Peace our beloved Son, Dad and Brother.
