James John Fallon
The “original” Jimmy Fallon passed away on September 7, 2016. Jim was born in Brooklyn New York on New Years day, 1926. He was a Navy veteran of WW11 and someone with a sense of humor in the war department stationed him at the Navy supply depot in Fallon Nevada. He worked for many years as a UPS driver in New York and retired from that job in 1972. He then moved to Debary and worked for Volusia county in Deland. He is survived by his wife Joan and 2 stepsons Robert & Kenneth Mancino and daughter in law Robyn Mancino.
Jim had a fondness for photography, stamp collecting, golf, bowling in 1954 he bowled a score of 299 and dressing up for Halloween. Some of his more notable costumes were Little Lord Fontleroy, Carmen Miranda and the Hunchback of Notre Dame. He was active In St. Ann's church in Debary.
Since he was born on January 1st he often felt gypped as his birthday was so close to Christmas and the New Year that people were tired of celebrating so Christmas became his defacto birthday. Some famous people that share the birthdate of January 1 are: Paul Revere 1735, Betsy Ross 1752, Barry Goldwater 1909 and J. Edgar Hoover 1895. Jim will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
