John E.Sawyer (Bud) 90 of Chaumont passed away March 26,2018 at Florida Memorial Hospital after being transferred from Emery Bennett Veterans Nursing Home where he was a resident since March 2017. Born June 4, 1927 in Watertown to Edward and Rita Sherman Sawyer. John married the love of his life Suzanna VanDusen Fay in Watertown. Survived by his wife Suzanna, 3 step children Phillip and Janet Fay, Sackets Harbor, Patricia Fay, Watertown, Kathleen and Dale Tamblin, Rodman 4 very loved grandchildren Amber and Autumn Fay, Tyler and Tayler Tamblin,1 sister Rita Sawyer, Summit Village, 2 brother in laws and their wives James and Linda VanDusen, Watertown, Edmund and Carol VanDusen, Adams, brother in law Bernard (Oogie) Buckingham, Lowville. sister in law MaryLou VanDusen, Sackets Harbor, many nieces and nephews that always called him “Uncle Bud”  Besides his parents, 2 sisters Gladys and Daci, sister in law Mary Buckingham and brother in law Nelson VanDusen passed before him.  After high school he served his country in the Army from August 1945 till December 1951. He was a veteran of the Korean War.  He retired as Superintendent of the City of Watertown Department of Public Works after over 30 years of service July 1982.

A Memorial Service will held at a later date at his home in Chaumont, NY.
