Joseph Macaluso, 90, Deltona, FL died Wednesday - 12-07-16 in Orange City, FL following a long illness.  A mass of Christian Burial celebrating the life of Mr. Macaluso will be conducted 7:00 p.m. Friday – 12-09-16 at St. Ann’s Catholic Church DeBary, FL with Fr. Kenny Aquino officiating.  The family will receive friends at the church from 5 to 7 p.m.  Born in Racalmuto, Sicily, Italy he grew up there.  An aspiring young man Mr. Macaluso learned and spoke fluent English and Italian.  He moved to Staten Island, NY where he established, owned, operated and became successful as a land, residential, hotel, sports complex real estate developer in Macaluso Homes, Inc.  He lived his life as a Good Samaritan, always caring and volunteering to help his fellow man.  He worked for years with the Parkinson’s foundation.  He was Catholic and  loved watching old western movies.  1986, he retired from his development firm and moved to Ojai, CA where he endeavored as an Orange Grove Rancher.   In 2013, Mr. Macaluso moved to Deltona, FL.  Survivors include his wife of (65 years) Josephine, son Vincent – Ojai, CA, daughter Lynnann Macaluso Boi – Deltona, FL, son Joseph, Jr. – Ojai, CA, daughter Annmarie Macaluso – Deltona, FL, daughter Angela Macaluso – Deltona, FL, 8 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.  In lieu of flowers the family graciously requests donations be made in his memory to ALZHEIMERS RESEARCH.
