Laura S. Lavery, 92, of Sevierville, Tennessee passed away peacefully on Tuesday June 14, 2016, with loving family members at her side.  Laura was born in the small New Hampshire town of North Woodstock, where she lived until the beginnings of WWII.  When the war broke out, she moved to Hartford, Connecticut to work at the Pratt & Whitney Aircraft Factory, building airplane motors.  It was in Connecticut, that she was introduced to Donald, her husband of more than 50 years.  Prior to moving to Tennessee, she was a resident of Deltona, Florida, where she was an active member of many organizations, including the VFW Auxiliary, The American Legion and the DAV.   In addition to her activities with various organizations, Laura also liked to volunteer at charity events and area nursing homes.  Her husband had a small band, and they would always make sure to get the residents involved.  She had a great sense of humor and loved to make people happy.  Laura is survived by her daughter Susan Cravens, of Sevierville, TN, her son Don Lavery and his wife Genie of Orlando, FL, grandson Frank Cravens, his wife Cindy and their two children Bryson and Brody, as well as grandson William Cravens, Leslie Cravens, and their children Cody and Brandon.  She also leaves behind her loving niece, Phyllis Boyce along with her son Austin and other family members.  Laura will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her family hopes that all will remember her for the joy and happiness that she brought to their lives, and for the gentle and caring soul that she was.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday June 21, 2016 at Deltona Memorial Gardens at 10:30am at 1295 Saxon Boulevard Orange City, FL 32763.
