Leah Raye "Cookie" Humphrey

Leah Raye "Cookie" Humphrey, 74 of DeBary, Florida passed away on Monday, July 1, 2019.  She was an almost 30 year survivor of breast cancer, a 3 1/2 year survivor of melanoma skin cancer, and she has fought bravely for the last 3 years after being diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer.


Cookie was born in Chicago, Illinois on April 3, 1945; she was preceded in death by her wonderful parents Leslie Freeman and Ruth Freeman (Trillet) who adopted both her and her brother Leslie Freeman Jr. (Corky).  She is survived by her husband of 36 years, David.  Her son Joseph Trudniak with wife Amy, and granddaughters Alyssa and Emily from Hellertown, PA. Her son Peter Trudniak with wife Jennifer, grandson Ryan with wife Kaylee, grandson Jake with wife Maddy and great granddaughter Hayden, and her granddaughter Cherilyn all from the High Point, NC area.


Cookie will be remembered for her great sense of humor, fun loving nature and willingness to help others.  She will be cremated at Altman-Long Funeral Home, DeBary and her Cookie Jar will be interred at Spring Valley Memorial Park, IL with her family.


We appreciate all the cards, prayers, best wishes and assistance during the long period of illness.  Thank you all.
