Sandra Joyce Marcum
Sandra Joyce Marcum, 73, of DeBary, Florida passed away on Tuesday, September 22, 2020. She was born on July 11, 1947 in New Albany, Indiana to Ernest L. Fisher and Doris Louise White Fisher. Sandy is survived by her husband, Bill Marcum; brothers Paul Fisher (Elizabeth) and Lloyd Fisher (Sharon); her grandchildren, Luke, Caleb and Leah Lawhon and the extended Marcum families.
After a successful career in insurance, Sandy invented and patented the “Curve Master” presser foot. Marketing of her product took her around the world teaching and sharing her love of quilting, while at the same time making friendships that would last across the miles and lifetimes. At home, she enjoyed knitting, spinning yarn, sewing and reading. If you knew Sandy, you were also familiar with her Camino de Santiago hiking pilgrimage stories in Spain. She spoke of it lovingly and often.
She married Bill in 2015 and they became devoted members of Markham Woods Presbyterian Church. Sandy went on to become an elder in the church and a respected member of that community. In all of her many interests and travels, she created long-lasting friendships based on deep respect and love.
All of us, including her dear friends and fellow travelers, will miss her bright light. BUEN CAMINO!
A small service will be held at Markham Woods Presbyterian Church on November, 7, 2020 at 11:00 am. Due to Covid, there will be a live stream link on mwpcusa.org.
In lieu of flowers, the family would love for Halifax Hospice, which treated Sandy with respect and care, to be a recipient of any donations.
