Teresa Louise Prendergast
Teresa (Terri) Prendergast, 73, passed away on June 16, 2018 after a long battle with cancer.  Terri was born in Pittsburgh, PA to Gordon and Mary Smith. She was the second of three sisters: Suzanne Sander and Marcie Fortunato (Doug).  Terri attended the University of Dayton where she earned a sociology degree and met her husband, Paul Anthony (Tony) Prendergast. The two were married in 1966 and moved to Florida where she lived the remainder of her years. She went back to school later in life and earned a nursing degree. She worked many years as an obstetrics nurse at Central Florida Hospital in her hometown of Sanford. However, it was in her retirement that she held her dream job as a volunteer Giraffe Ambassador at the Central Florida Zoo. In her spare time, Terri was a skilled tennis player, world traveler, avid reader, and could fill a room with her beautiful piano playing.  She is preceded in death by her husband, Tony. She is survived by her three children: Jennifer Prendergast and her husband, Doug Betters of Whitefish, MT; Brian Prendergast and his wife, Heather of Deltona, FL; and Eric Prendergast and his wife Larissa of Jacksonville, FL. She was the beloved grandmother of six grandchildren: Leah, Brett, Dillon, Sean, Paul, and Alahna. She is also survived by many relatives and treasured friends who she loved dearly.  She will be missed by all. 
Memorial services will be celebrated at St. Ann's Catholic Church, 26 Dogwood Trail, Debary, FL on June 25, 2018. Gathering of friends and family at 11:00 a.m. with a Mass of Christian burial at 12:00 P.M.  A Celebration of Life Luncheon will follow the service at Victoria Gardens Community Clubhouse 1001 Garden Club Drive DeLand, Florida 32724.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Central Florida Zoo or Halifax Health Hospice
