William Michael Ford

William M. Ford (Bill or Billy) of Deltona, FL, age 53, passed away peacefully on Wednesday July 24, 2019 at Advent Health Fish Memorial Hospice in Orange City, FL due to complications of cardiac arrest.

He was born May 13th, 1966 in West Point, NY to parents Kathleen (Barratt) Sutton and James Ford. He graduated from Seminole Community College in 1988 with a degree in Culinary Arts. He proceeded to have a dynamic 35 year career in the restaurant industry working for various hotels, event venues and restaurants. He received numerous awards throughout his career including, his most cherished, a Friends of James Beard Award.

Anyone that knew him knew he had a zest for life. He ran a tight ship in the kitchen but also knew how to entertain and have fun with his co-workers. Other than his passion for cooking he was a talented musician playing guitar, bass and even spent years playing out in the Tampa area. He was also an avid fisherman and loved being on the water. He equally loved fishing in a small boat with friends and sailing the seas on a large cruise ship with family and friends.

He is survived by wife Jennifier (Scheideler) Ford, daughter Madeleine Hilbert, siblings Mark Ford, Matthew Ford, Jennifer Sutton and Elizabeth Ford, parents Kathy and Jim Sutton and James and Darlene Ford.

Family, friends and others whose lives that Bill touched are invited to join us in a Celebration of Life on Saturday, August 10, 2019 from 11am-2pm at Glen Abbey Golf Club, 391 N Pine Meadow Drive DeBary, Florida 32713.

In lieu of flowers we are requesting donations be made in his name to Shriners Hospital for Children
